Art allows me to explore my interest in the construction of materials that change and alter through their own life cycles. I try to capture the colours and textures of subjects as they succumb to the ageing process, while maintaining their beauty. The combination of the natural world and man made subjects is a continuous source of inspiration.
Creativity has been a part of my life since childhood and has taken me in different directions over the years. It is now channelled into painting and I work in acrylics, taking my inspiration from the natural world and the places with which I have an emotional connection. I also enjoy working in watercolours and paint quirky animals in vibrant colours. My love for fabrics and sewing is manifest in pictures and handmade cards using recycled fabrics and free motion machine embroidery with hand finished details.
